Central to the course is understanding the new vocabulary of multimedia and the new applications that come with that. Using existing video and audio production techniques, adapting writing for online and upgrading technical know-how participants would learn about blogging, vodcasts, podcasts, SMS messaging, RSS feeds, digital narratives, videostreaming and mobile journalism.

Teaching will combine talks, discussions, workshops and practical exercises. Emphasis will be on understanding these communication skills- using examples and hands-on demonstrations, plus practical sessions.
