This intensive course is based on tutorial sessions to introduce new topics and periods of practical consolidation. The latter provides ample opportunity for investigation of interconnection of equipment (signal level, cabling, connectors and terminations, sample rate conversion, channel status, ADCs & DACs). The course covers:
• Synchronisation (Reference sources, Delay/phase problems and how to overcome them)
• Jitter: audible effects, measurement and failure margins
• Channel status and user data, investigation and modification.
• Audio Testing: converters, channel status, signal measurement etc.
• Principles of audio data rate reduction techniques and a brief overview of Digital Radio.
