The aims of this course are to build on existing skills in single camera shooting/editing, to develop confidence in planning location shoots & to develop competence in documentary-style material
who it's for:
Producers and assistant producers with some experience of single camera direction
Those who have attended Directing Single Camera 1
Three practical shooting exercises including:
- a final location feature
- editing in Avid suites
- seminars, workshops and tutorials covering:
- documentary styles and genres
- creative use of camera movement
- progressive camera lens and lighting techniques
By the end of this course, course members will have developed their skills in directing factual programmes, and extended their practical experience in the following areas:
- greater familiarity with documentary styles and genres
- increased appreciation of structuring programmes effectively
- planning, scripting and directing a location feature
- creative use of camera movement
- increased understanding of lenses and lighting techniques
