Day 1

Iktishaf - Journalism - Experience the world of News and Stories.

Activity:

A visit to a newspaper and publishing house in Abu Dhabi, guided by a local Journalist.

Participants will:

• learn about the roles of the journalist and the functions of journalism: messenger, informant, interpreter, gatekeeper, entertainer, investigator
• experience the newsroom and get an insight in how to create a good story
• experience the processes involved: a story moving from the reporter to the editor and into the newspaper and how the newspaper gets physically printed delivered it to its readers

Day 2

Iktishaf - Creativity - Turn your creative ideas into reality.

Activity

The team at twofour54 ibtikar’s “Creative Lab” will workshop ways to develop creative ideas for TV formats and other Media business ideas.

Participants will:

• Learn how to brainstorm effectively in a team utilizing entertaining methods and techniques.
• Get an insight in the World of Media as a Business: its potential, its challenges and the importance of good planning.
• Learn how any idea can be turned into a concept if it is well structured.
• Participate in an exercise for “pre-acting”! ( how to manage your thoughts and your body in order not to feel uncomfortable in front of Audience)
• Experience the importance of team work in a commercial TV Production and learn about the roles & responsibilities: Cameraman, Producer, Director etc.

Day 3

Iktishaf - Television - Experience the leading TV Production facility in the Arab World.

Activity

The group will spend 1 full day at twofour54’s world class TV Production studios at twofour54 intaj. Guided by an experienced Broadcast professional, participants will:

• Explore the process of producing TV shows and learn about the various roles and responsibilities within a production team.
• Experience the technical environment of a TV Broadcasting studio: from the gallery to the post production studios, the live room etc.
• Experience a life production in a studio: the set, the lighting, the camera and the people involved.

Day 4

Iktishaf - Animation - Experience the exciting world of Animation.

Activity

The Group will spend one day at the Animation department of twofour54 tadreeb. Guided by twofour54’s experienced trainers, the participants will:

• Learn about the process of creating animated characters: from scribbling to the final Animation.
• Get an insight in how important Animation technology has become in Movies, Television and Telecommunication of the 21st century.
• Get involved in exciting drawing and animation exercises

Day 5

Presentation to parents & twofour54 Summer Challenge Award

Activity

• Presentation to student’s families, including viewing of footage and photos taken during Iktishaf Media to demonstrate the achievements of the students over the summer camp.
• Representatives of the participants will present / talk about their experiences and what they have learned throughout the program
• twofour54 will present the Vision of Media as a key pillar of the future economy of the UAE
• Lunch with all participants, student’s family and twofour54 team
• Students will receive their certificates
