This two day workshop will cover all the essential skills of combining words and pictures to tell compelling stories. It will combine clip analysis and examples of best practice from recent output with a number of intensive, practical exercises. The aims of this course are to develop the skills and techniques to write creatively and effectively for television, and to know how to write a script to enhance viewer engagement, understanding and enjoyment. By the end of this course participants will have the skills and confidence to tell more interesting stories on television and rediscover the pleasure of creative writing.

The aims of this tv script writing course are to develop the skills and techniques on how to write for television creatively and effectivley, and to know how to write a script to enhance viewer engagement, understanding and enjoyment.

who it's for:

Debutant film makers and those with some directing experience who want to write for television or wish to improve and develop their television script writing skills.

This course contains a workshop which provides delegates with the opportunity to practice the skills and techniques of good television script writing in a variety of genres.

Participants will be introduced to differing genre writing styles, including: current affairs, short and long form documentary, and factual entertainment.

Participants will write a voice over to pictures which they will record with a professional voice over artist - learning how to write for a specific voice, and gaining experience in edit-based, recording technology.
